that I COMPLETELY FAIL.. as a blogger... haha.. this is how it happens.. I say I am going to do something... and then it never happens... :(
I really did intend on keeping everyone up to date on my travels over the summer... but I guess that rarely happened... AHHH!!!
I feel like there is someone out there that was waiting and waiting and waiting for me to post something new... and I never did... they could have been waiting forever....
huh.. that kinda sounds like God and our prayer life and quiet time... He waits and waits and waits until we finally decide that we are going to "post" something new...and for some we rarely post...
Lately that's what I have been feeling... God's been waiting for me to tell him how I am and what's going on in my life. Sure he knows everything.... but he loves hearing it from me firsthand... :D
I guess that's all I really wanted to say... I wanted to say sorry to anyone that was waiting for me to post...
especially my Abba Father for not giving you what you deserve... my thoughts, feelings, and prayers.
GODbless guys!

Rough Week... but God helps us through
hey guys...
since I last updated a lot has happened... we got to Ruston, La and the camp has gone well.. and the kids are amazing as always.... but the devil seems to be working even then...
Our team (my summer family) found out that our sister Jo's dad was in a very serious accident... he's in the hospital right now as I type this and he is fighting to survive... and right now... it doesn't look the best... but I know through prayer and faith... miracles happen..
Jo left early this morning to be with her family at the hospital in Alabama... and we are continuing to work camp...
and even after all of this my brother Chris (whose on the team as well) found out that a close family friend had died today.. he was quite upset... but after last night and today... I understand..
the pressure and stress of the camp week packed with all these things that keep getting thrown at us.... it can take it's toll...
but Christ gives us strength and courage even through the rough and hard times... he's the only one that has always.. and will always be there for us....
to quote a beautiful song from this summers show... He is our friend when we're in need, He's the shelter that we seek...and when all our lives come crashing in... He comes and rescues us...
just knowing those things gives me the strength to get through the rest of the week... and I know that I have to get through the week for the kids..
That's why i'm traveling this summer... to show the light of Christ to children in some of the darkest places....
God brought me to Frick and Frack for a reason.... to share my talent and gifts that God has given to me.. and make that one week of summer for a child.. the most wonderful week... and show them God's love and kindness... :-)
thanks guys for reading... and I just ask for prayer for Jo's family and my friend Chris... :-)
til next time...
In Christ,
Katie

Week 1: Florida Blvd. Baptist Church, Baton Rouge, Louisiana
wow.. the end of the first week has come and gone... it felt like it just started...
the show was great!! The kids were wonderful in their roles in 2 Tickets to Hollywood... this years summer musical.... it's about two sisters in the 1930's who accidently end up auditioning at monumental studios for a new role in a famous actors new movie.... they get mistaken for twins and end up in a bind when one sister lies and the lie spreads and the sisters have to tell the truth...
It's a wonderful story of redemption and forgiveness.... :-)
2nd... BIG NEWS.. I got to have a "role" in my first EVER Frick and Frack show... it was AMAZING... granted. it was an offstage speaking role... but nonetheless... it was fun!!! :-D
The kids had a great time and the staff did as well... we only had one little boy who got worked up and had to sit back stage during the second half of the show.... but it's amazing what a notepad of paper and a bag of markers can do for a 5 year old who is bawling his eyes out in the middle of the show... :-) haha... poor little Brennan... he got better... and we ALMOST got him back on stage... but he didn't want to.. so we sat with him back stage and watched him draw when we weren't working...
it's those times when you just have to smile.... and know that God is everywhere in every situation and can help you handle every little problem the devil throws at you...
tomorrow starts week 2 in Ruston, La at Temple Baptist Church...
the church service was great this morning... the college pastor was filling in for the Senior pastor... and the sermon was about not just being a half way christian... but to cheer for God.... ALL THE TIME!!! we cheer for sports teams but yet when it comes to God... our cheers are not always out loud... We'll sit in sleet snow and hail for a football game... but we skip church for rain... hmmm... seems a little silly to me...
i enjoyed the service... the worship was blended and very energetic.... one of the nicest services I have been to in a long time... :-)
okay..well it's late... and I have an early morning tomorrow... write more soon!!! :-)

Week 1: Florida Blvd. Baptist Church, Baton Rouge, Louisiana
hey all!!!
tomorrow's the day.. (well technically it's today...but whatever...) I am so excited for camp to start!!!
I can't wait for the kids to walk through the door ready for a week of music and acting... all in the love and adoration of Christ.. :-)
The staff and I went to the church service at FBBC... it was great worship and wonderful preaching by the pastor..
The pastor spoke on being prepared and ready to move when God calls.. even when the calling is not immediate... he used the passage in Joshua.. where the Israelites are guided through the Jordan river using the Ark of the Covenant.
After the service, we unloaded the trailer and started our tasks of setting up to get ready for the camp day... I helped assemble our (sometimes frustrating) stage...but it all came together well with the help of my other team members...
We then had lunch and finished our tasks...dinner followed...
I traveled to Wal-mart with Neesa and helped with the shopping....when we got back the rest of the staff was just finishing up some last minute touches on the choreography...
Then Phillip and Neesa did a sound check for worship tomorrow...and most of the staff returned to our housing (more about that later... :-).....) except for me, Christina, Phillip, Neesa and a lovely rookie staffer named Madison, who was running the Powerpoint.... we decided to take a trip to the lovely Sonic up the road....well it turns out they closed at 10... but they served us anyway because Phillip and Neesa said that it was only 3 minutes til.... so we got our slushies and drove back to the house.... :-) where the entire rest of the staff was slightly jealous...haha.. but they got over it...
well the real stuff begins tomorrow... i'll probably tell you about the first day... and then the housing...cause it is pretty AWESOME!!
okay...well i'm heading to bed... early morning...
I shall write more soon!!

Summertime!
Okay guys! I have officially finished my sophomore year at Liberty and I am EXCITED! because...
IT'S SUMMER!!!
and that means I'm heading out on the road again... and I can't wait... I just know God is going to do great things this summer...
these next few days are going to fly by... tomorrow I am having lunch with my best friend Kimmy and I have an eye doctor's appt... Saturday.. shopping for summer supplies with mom.. church on Sunday... Monday: Hair cut. Tuesday: Dentist... then Tuesday night.... heading to Stafford to start my 2nd summer with Frick and Frack...
This summer I am promising to keep up with my blog.. I am going to post as often as I can as long as the internet is good... I think I might type up a paragraph or two everyday and then post when I can...
I feel like last summer I really fell short... but I am doing it this summer!!! :-D
On a final note... I want to say a word to my friends at Liberty that are graduating on Saturday and heading out into the world to really get into the journey that God has planned for them...
Good luck, my friends.. I will miss you.. very much.. and I hope that you will make a stop back at Liberty before May 2012 (cause that's when I'm graduating) so that we can reminisce on the good times we had a Liberty and in the Worship dept. I love you guys and I know God has amazing plans for you...
"For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11
Go out into the world and change it for the world of Christ!

Change...
hey guys..
i thought i'd post again just to give some things that I have been thinking about and feeling over the last few days...
CHANGE... man that is a big word and for some of us... we either love it or hate it...
sometimes change can be bittersweet... times change... friends change.... LIFE changes...
I guess this topic has come to mind because one of my favorite shows (Ugly Betty) has come to an end (sad I know... but not the only reason I bring up this topic... ;-) )
After watching the last episode... I got to thinking about all the changes that are happening around me...
The pastor from my home church... that I have known and looked up to for as long as I can remember is preaching his last sermon there on Sunday... and I won't be there to hear it...
Words cannot express the impact he has had in my life...the impact he has had on many lives throughout his years at Culpeper Baptist... Thanks Pastor Ted.... I'll miss you :-)
....Change... hmm it's hard to comprehend sometimes...
In only 4 semesters at Liberty, I have found SO many good friends.... and it's hard to see some go...
but... for them... it's time to start a new journey in the world... A Godly journey...A journey from being "in school" to being in "real life"
Even though I have only known these seniors for 2 years.. it feels like a lifetime..
Thanks guys for a wonderful 4 semesters... and Good Luck on your new journey.... We'll all miss you....
....hmmm...
well I think that is all I have right know... sorry if it's a little depressing... but I had to put it somewhere... :-)
Until next time...
In Christ,
Katie

Sometimes Life Just Gets To Busy!
Hey guys!!
wow.. I haven't posted in a super long time... since June last summer I think... hmmm time sure flies. As of right now I am finishing up my sophomore year at Liberty... and MAN what a year it has been.. an eye opening and heart opening year... I have grown SO much since last year...
Sometimes it feels like just yesterday I was starting high school... now I am going into my JUNIOR year in college... AHHHHH!!! haha... but I know God has amazing plans for me and I am going to go out into the world and change it for his glory!! :-)
So.. to update you on my life... and the reason I started this blog! My summer travels with the AMAZING and lovely Frick and Frack Music team...
Last summer had an amazing impact on my feelings about children's ministry... Bro. Phillip (my boss, who owns the company with his ministry partner Neesa) told a story ever week about how he came to be involved with children's ministry... He said that he used to not be able to spend one second around children let alone a week... and then when he got involved in the children's part of ministry... he couldn't imagine spending time with adults! haha
It's funny because after this summer, I can see where he is coming from...
I used to be kind of weird about being around kids.. especially younger kids... I much preferred being with middle school and high school age... but after spending the 12 1/2 weeks with hundreds of kids... I came to really appreciate them...
One of the things I always say when people ask me how my summer went is.. I will never again underestimate the abilities of a child. They are one of the most hard working groups of people I have ever been around... and the amazing thing is... the LOVE it... even more than the team did... they want to do their best for you... and you have to encourage them... they looked up to all the team members...
I'll just end by saying that I had an AMAZING time last summer.... and announce that I am going again this year and I am SUPER excited... especially for the new churches that we have never been to before and meeting all the new wonderful children and pouring into them the love of God... so that one day they will grow to have a relationship with him and then pour into someone themselves!
I am going to try to keep this blog updated... and maybe even promise to post a picture from each church every week.... just to give you guys an idea about what I am doing...
okay well... thanks for reading!!!
